Fitness

Running is one of my first loves- the reason why I care about fitness in the first place. There's nothing like a runner's high...which is probably why I have chosen to run a handful of marathons.

But the thing is, running used to be the only thing that made me feel healthy. I realize now that although I exercised a lot, I wasn't fueling my body correctly. I would run all of the time to get rid of my bloated feeling, to help with digestion (need I say more??) and just to feel good. But after a long run, I would come home and eat everything in the kitchen sink only to find myself in a cycle of extreme exercise and mindless eating. My body finally said "ENOUGH!"

So anyway, I love fitness and I am currently studying to get my certification in personal training. My passions are working with women. I see myself helping busy moms, women looking to achieve weight-loss, helping those with infertility and more. I am studying and learning a lot. What I am learning the most is that while exercise is wonderful, what happens outside the gym is what is most important. IE: diet, spiritual wellness, stress management & mental health.

Nevertheless, I love fitness and am excited come alongside women on their individualized journey. If you allow yourself to combine all areas of wellness (diet, exercise, spiritual health)...you will find that this lifestyle is the most effortless, yielding the best results.

I just read Kate Moss (model's) motto in a magazine recently. She said, "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." I was laughing...but realized the truth in it. Although, I would edit it to say..."Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels." The funny thing is, when you begin to feel better...real food tastes so amazing and living well just becomes more of a desire than a burden. Exercise becomes fun again too without living in the gym!

More in fitness to come I promise!
